Joe serves as the director of the statewide Michigan Translational Research and Commercialization (MTRAC) AgBio Innovation Hub at Michigan State University (MSU). The program is jointly funded by the university and the Michigan Strategic Fund with funds administered through the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. Funding provided through the MTRAC AgBio Hub helps to move early-stage technologies from university and institute laboratories into successful commercial applications.
