Aren Phillips is the Greenhouse Systems Manager at Walters Gardens. He has a bachelor’s degree of Environmental Science from Calvin University and a Certificate of Greenhouse Management from Michigan State University. Aren started at Spring Meadow Nursery and gained experience in propagation, automation, and tissue culture lab management, earning him the GPN 40 under 40 award.
At Walters Gardens, Aren has lead teams on projects that include sales forecasting, LED installation, and automation design and implementation. He also has experience in construction project management and business analytics. Currently, he is working on an ERP system streamlining project, researching new automation, and AI developments. He is keeping tabs on tech innovations in horticulture and agriculture through his involvement with MSU Innovation Center.
