Shuresh Ghimire is an Associate Extension Educator and Vegetable Specialist at the University of Connecticut. With a focus on vegetable production and climate adaptation, Shuresh specializes in integrated pest management and the use of soil-biodegradable plastic mulches (BDM). He earned a Ph.D. in Horticulture from Washington State University, where his research centered on BDMs for vegetable production. In this presentation, Shuresh will discuss the application of BDM, including equipment adjustments, its performance throughout the season, and post-season breakdown after tillage. This will provide growers with the insights needed to decide whether to adopt BDM in their own operations.
