Modern technologies allow us to visualize and understand patterns of spatial variability across agricultural fields. Through remote sensing, farmers can observe how crop productivity changes throughout the landscape. These data can then serve as inputs to crop simulation models that create a digital representation of the farming and orchard system. Using this digital twin, we’re able to explore “what if” scenarios to evaluate how alternative management practices may influence crop productivity, resource use, and long-term resilience while focusing on profitability.
