Harvesting Energy Savings: Real-World Solar for Greenhouses, Cold Storage and Specialty-Crop Operations

Energy-intensive growing and storage facilities present some of agriculture’s strongest opportunities for on-site solar. Harvest Solar will share case studies from Michigan projects, including apple storage buildings and greenhouse operations, to demonstrate how solar production can align with refrigeration, ventilation, irrigation, lighting and other year-round electrical loads.
Attendees will see actual project results, learn which buildings and electrical services make the best candidates, and understand the practical factors that determine project economics. The presentation will also explore how growers, equipment suppliers, refrigeration contractors, greenhouse vendors and other agricultural partners can work together to help customers control operating costs and make future facility investments more sustainable.
