My name is Jenny Balmes. I am the founder of Michigan Flower frined, a non-profit urban farm specializing in cut flowers, unique culinary plants, and plants for landscape design. I have always been enchanted by the natural world, I love people, and value community. Michigan Flower Friend aims to bring those three things together. Over the years as my garden has expanded, so have my ideas. The organization's mission is to  support community well-being by providing free and low-cost plants, garden planning assistance, education, and creative wellness programs that promote food security, environmental stewardship, mental health, and community connection. I have also made every farming/gardening mistake imaginable... learn from me, so you dont have to!
