Originally from Southwest Michigan, Dr. Brett Blaauw has degrees from Kalamazoo College, Western Michigan University, and Michigan State University. Now is the Southeast, he is currently a Professor and Extension Specialist of fruit entomology with a dual appointment at the University of Georgia and Clemson University, where he serves as a regional fruit entomologist specializing in peach production. Dr. Blaauw's research and Extension programs emphasize the integration of insect ecology and behavior with practical pest-management strategies to protect crops while conserving beneficial insects. He works closely with fruit growers, Extension agents, and multidisciplinary teams to develop science-based, economically practical IPM recommendations.
